19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hard courts
A resurgent Medvedev secured his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.
Medvedev, a former number one, has experienced a challenging period, winning just one match at the big events and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.
His varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in particular - resulted in him dropping out of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-term mentor his previous coach.
Now working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested competitive win over opponent Moutet.
It is Medvedev's maiden championship since the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt from spring of that year.
Success also indicates he has achieved twenty-one championships at 21 different competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my both daughters together, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," said world number 14 Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six championship matches, featuring in that event earlier this year.
Medvedev's defensive approach and regular outbursts on the playing surface had led observers to wonder if his capacity to perform at the elite level was finished.
Yet the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and compete assertively, backed up by an better serving game.
He fought back from a deficit in the first set against the challenging opponent, taking four of the last five points to take the lead.
The pair exchanged breaks in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his initial professional victory, took control to push for a decider.
He defended four early-game break points in a competitive deciding set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Fittingly, the winner clinched the win with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
